The Alfa Romeo F1 Team Stake Barrel, the third gem in WhistlePig’s Single Barrel PiggyBack Legends Series, boasts a robust 96.77 proof—a tribute to Valtteri Bottas’ iconic racing number, 77, and the exactitude of Formula One racing. This Rye Whiskey, inspired by Zhou Guanyu, the pioneering Chinese F1 driver, is artfully finished with exotic lychee and oolong tea. The oolong’s herbal and floral notes complement the signature PiggyBack 100% Rye’s herbaceous tones, culminating in a succulent tropical fruit finish with a hint of spice.
Much like Alfa Romeo F1® Team Stake’s state-of-the-art C43 racing vehicles, each barrel underwent rigorous trials in the team’s Swiss wind tunnel before making its debut on the track. A select few were subjected to varying G-Forces at the WhistlePig farm and distillery, enhancing the whiskey-wood interaction and staying true to the dynamic nature of Formula One.
