Autodromo and Hodinkee Create Rallysport Chronograph Watch Collection

For Rallying, the 1980s are heralded as a time ruled by raw speed and power. Lighter, space age materials and turbo charged engines made the cars produced under the regulations of Group B, among the most sophisticated of their day. Now, the innovative spirit of what many consider to be the golden age of rallying is available for your wrist.

The horologists of HODINKEE collaborated with Autodromo Founder Bradley Price, harnessing his motorsports-inspired timepiece design know-how to create a limited edition collection of watches worthy of Group B.  The Rallysport Chronograph series of five manually-wound watches capture the various liveries of the most famous of the Group B rally cars in their faces and dials.

The 037 features a midnight blue face contrasted by deep yellow hands that are easier to read under any lighting conditions. The white and cyan face of the T16 is more playful by comparison, complete with primary color subdials in red, blue, and yellow. The S4 features pops of red and cyan against a navy blue center and comes equipped with a polished stainless steel bracelet. Both the spirit of Group B and the inhouse style of HODINKEE shine through in the H01 with a simplified, monochromatic green face with lighter, kelly green accents on the hands and dials. And finally, the S1 will draw eyes with its slick, black stainless steel bracelet set against a watch face dominated by yellow detailing.

Each chronograph in the collection will set you back a cool $1,495, but what you’ll lose in cash, you’ll make up for in style.
